FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — The suspect in a South Florida the slayings of two women and a baby boy has been arrested a second time after new evidence surfaced linking him to the crime.
Lineten Belizaire was freed in March after a Broward County grand jury declined to indict him in the fatal shootings. Officials said Tuesday that Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives continued to investigate and found more evidence leading to another arrest of the 21-year-old Belizaire on second-degree murder charges.
Belizaire is jailed without bail. Belizaire’s attorney questions the strength of the supposedly new evidence.
Killed were 25-year-old Natasha Plummer, her infant son Carlton Stringer Jr. and 21-year-old Octavia Barnett. Investigators say Barnett and Belizaire had been in a longterm relationship. Their infant son together was not harmed in the shootings.
